The Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1, "For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

Do you ever look at a tree, one with a huge trunk and long branches? A tree that has stood for a hundred or more years enduring storms droughts and pests? Such a tree will most likely still be standing after we have passed. It was standing before we were born, growing and enduring.

God puts so many small reminders in our days of time. An old house with a historical plague out front, or a bridge now decaying built back when buggies were more common than cars or baby birds chirping in a nest are such reminders. Time moves ever onward and the face in the mirror reflects the passage of time.

All things have their season. A time to laugh, a time to rejoice, a time to dance, a time to sing, a time of praise, a time to be born and a time to be re-born. Notice each of these is a positive. A time to be positive to be lifted up and a time to praise. There are too many times or seasons to be negative that are forced upon us. Let us choose to make our seasons - our time - positive, fruitful and lasting.

A child of three never knows what day it is. The child only knows the beauty and the wonder of the moment. Let us live without considering time only the wonder and love of God. For if we would; our seasons would be long.
