| Bad Trees - Good Trees | ||

Luke 6:43 "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. My least favorite breed of dog is the Chihuahua. Sorry if this offends you because you have one and love it. Dogs to me are like food – some you really like and some like yogurt, I detest. It is all a matter of personal taste. But to me the Chihuahua is a feisty little dog that is always in a bad mood. When I was eight and had to walk to school there was a Chihuahua at the house on the corner. Every morning it slipped between the fence, snarled at me and attacked my ankles. There were a few scars. The dog had a rotten disposition and no matter how I tried to be friendly it was a no go. There are a few very remarkable people in my life. These people bend over backwards to make other people happy. They are the people who send thank-you cards, birthday cards, get well cards and just thinking of you cards. If you’ve gotten bad news they will take time out of their busy day to sit with you and put their arm around your shoulder. Ten minutes with one of these folks will brighten your day. Then there are those folks who can put you in a bad mood for a week after two minutes with them. You know them as whiners, schemers, tricksters and abusers. You wear your brain out trying to understand why they choose to be the way they are. Jesus is saying that the fruit of a life comes from what is inside. We choose what kind of fruit we bear and that choice comes from who we are on the inside. That Chihuahua had a mean spirit and the attacking of my ankles was the fruit of that spirit. Today you may want to consider the type of fruit you are producing. If you don’t like the fruit then let Jesus into your heart. God’s Wisdom: Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Eccl. 12:13 Worldly wisdom: You should never lie, cheat, steal or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must cheat, cheat death. If you must steal, steal out of bad company and if you must drink......drink in the moments!! Will Smith
