The Tear That Deflects Anger

Psalm 67:1God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us;

It’s happened to every parent. Your child has done something worthy of punishment. Maybe it was breaking something of sentimental value. Or, maybe it was something  really valuable. You are determined to let them know their behavior is inexcusable. They need a lesson and you are going to give it to them. But, there is a look on their face that says, "I know, I did wrong and I really deserve what’s coming my way but Mom/Dad, I’m sorry please don’t punish me!" Maybe the lip trembled or maybe it was the single tear that ran down the cheek. In the end you couldn’t do it.

God be merciful to me. Look on me and smile.

God knows how hard life is and how easy it is to fall to temptation. He loves each and every one of His children and sometimes He doesn’t punish. He hugs us and because he does we try all the harder to be good.

God’s Wisdom: Luke 11:11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Worldly Wisdom: "The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms. The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith." Bertrand Russell
