It is A Dark Dark World Without You

Yet if any of you suffers as a Christian, do not consider it a disgrace, but glorify God because you bear this name.(1 Peter 4.16 NRSV)

In a world that pushes believers to the side more light is needed. The world stands in needs of more men and women whose sole purpose is to glorify God. It is a sad commentary on the state of the church that many people do not perceive much difference in the way church folks live and the rest of the world. There is a story about a French light-house keeper who worked near Calais. As he was showing his lighthouse to some guests one day, one of them asked what would happen if one of the lights went out. His response was an emphatic "Never!" He said that if he permitted that to happen, he would live in fear of being responsible for a ship crashing into some unseen rocks along the coast. And then he went on to say, "Sometimes I feel as if the whole world is looking at my light."

That is how we ought to feel -- as if the whole world is looking at our light which glorifies God.

God’s Wisdom: "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matt. 5:16

Worldly Wisdom: "We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine." Dwight L. Moody
