Jeremiah 32 Anything Too Hard For God?

I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

What can you do really, really well? Maybe you are the best there ever was with a remote control. Could be your astounding talent is playing along with Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. Or could you be the best at eating cinnamon twists at Taco Bell. But there are some things that give you trouble. I run from Algebra! What’s something you avoid?

Jeremiah was a prophet and not a land speculator but he had the sense to know buying a field just before everyone was to be taken into slavery wasn’t a smart move. But God said to him (Jeremiah 32:25) buy the field and so he did. The city fell to the enemy and everyone was taken captive. It makes no sense why God said to buy the field until you go back and read verses 13-15. God said to buy the field and then take the deed to the property and bury it so that when HE redeems the people Jeremiah's descendants can reclaim the field. In other words God had a plan!

There are times in your life when nothing makes any sense. God leads you to do things that have nothing to do with the state of your life. The impossible and improbable are all that you have to look forward to because nothing else is working out.

God asks you in those difficult moments, "Is anything too hard for me?" And sheepishly, we answer, "No Lord!" and before those words die we ask, "But why this, why now?"

An email arrived today. A series of drawings of people carrying crosses. One guy says, "Lord if you let me cut it down a little I can carry it a lot easier." He trims his cross and a little later he asks to trim it again. Then comes the drawing of a great gully and people are laying down their crosses and walking across. All except for the guy who trimmed his cross to make it easier to carry. His cross is too short to lay across the gully!

No, we don’t understand and yes, what the Lord puts in front of us makes no sense but remember He has answers and He has purpose!

When it seems nothing is making sense God says, "There is nothing too hard for me!"

Trust Him today and worry less. It will all make sense when the time is right. God redeemed His people and they again reclaimed the land. He will do the same for you because nothing is too hard for Him.
