![]() 19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Last week in Monroe they dug up a time capsule that was buried over a hundred years ago. Inside was part of a confederate bill and a lot of ashes. Whatever was there rotted and the anticipated joyous discovery soon turned to disappointment. Suppose you were a fellow in the Philippines who buried over a hundred thousand dollars and discovered a box filled with fat worms. Maybe he should have bought diamonds to bury. Look around you at the people you know investing in pleasure, recreation and social networking. Worship and church are for the old people. God will be there when they have time or need for Him. Spiritual growth is just something preachers taught about. And, can you honestly believe there are those who think Jesus is coming back again? Karl Malden died today at 97. He was a great actor. Michael Jackson died at 50 and so did Billy Mays. The difference was 47 years. Imagine that almost half Malden’s age. How much treasure did the three take with them into death? Malden was a Christian. Remember, "If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." We are never too old to pray that little prayer. Worldly Wisdom: All that live must die, passing through nature to eternity. William Shakespeare God’s Wisdom: "IF we will willingly share in His suffering, we may then share in His Glory" (Romans 8:17).
