![]() Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3.13 Ever have one of those days when everything you touch goes wrong? A person once said, "I would like to get my hands on that Murphy fellow that came up with his law." When you are having a Murphy day your temper is short and your patience is on the shelf at home. No doubt you say a few extra words and vent a few at people around you. They look at you like you are in serious need of a good smack on the bottom like your daddy used to give you. But, most say nothing and shrug it off. Then there is that person you know who has never had a happy day in their life. It could be raining five-dollar bills and they would complain the bills weren’t tens. Every moment with that person is like a week in a desert walking on thorns. These people test your coping skills and your forgiving skills. Jesus was asked, "How often should I forgive someone who wrongs me?" His answer was four hundred and ninety times. Putting that into practice seems impossible. "Geez God that’s going above and beyond reason!" Most people would say they aren’t that good of a Christian yet. How often do we forgive? Forgive as the Lord forgave you! Think about it for a second – is that more than four hundred and ninety-one? Everyday we live we do at least one thing that God forgives. If you lived to be seventy-four that would be 27,010 days or 27,010 times God had to forgive you. Now that is certainly more than four hundred and ninety. AND – God does rate the severity of your offenses. No matter what a person says or does to you today just forgive them. Remind yourself that you are to forgive as often as the Lord forgives you. – Amen!
